Here are the targeted exercises to firm your butt.
1. Butt Squeezes (a well kept secret)
Butt squeezes can be done anywhere – lying in bed, waiting in a queue, or even sitting in your chair at work. Better still, butt squeezes are very effective. Here’s a way to tighten your butt quickly, since you can practice all day long. To do a butt squeeze, simply clench your butt muscles as tightly as you can – hold for 15 to 30 seconds – then release. Keep this up for five minutes at a time.
2. Stair-climbing
You know how the gyms have step trainers – repetitive stepping on to a low surface for the duration of the routine? Well climbing stairs does the same thing. Its a great workout for the butt! Also has the bonus of a good cardio work out. As well as burning your fat it will strengthen your heart.
3. Squats.
Doing squats is another great exercise to lose fat butt and firm your derriere. If you want to up the anti try putting extra weight over your shoulders. Load a backpack up with potatoes, bags of flour or something similar to get a good workout going.
4. Lunges

5. Step ups
Step ups is a another really great exercise and can easily be done at home as well. All you need is a low stable bench. Step up one leg at a time to the bench and then step down. Do sets of step ups for each leg. To increase the work rate you can hold some weights or plastic bags with bottles of water.
6. Toe Taps
Toe taps are great for targeting that troublesome flabby lower part of your butt. To do toe taps, lie on your back on the floor with your arms relaxed at your sides. Lift your legs at a 90 degree angle, with your thighs perpendicular to the floor. Then drop your left foot so that the toes tap the floor. Bring it back up to the starting position as you repeat the move with your right foot. Keep tapping the floor with alternating feet for about one minute. You should start to feel the burn in your lower glutes!
7. Hill Running or Walking
Well you are going to get outside for this one. A brisk walk up a hill is a really good way to tone your legs and butt. Running up a hill is even better. Running works your butt muscles harder and provides a more intense workout. Some people like running in sand or loose dirt for an even more intense workout. You get maximum butt-toning running uphill. The forward slant of your body makes your butt work harder than ever to keep pushing you onward.
Plan to do your exercises regularly. Butt squeezes are easily done every day. The other exercises you should plan to do three times per week. Build up slowly so that the routine doesn’t become an ordeal.
