Foods That Help You Lose Weight
It’s a very encouraging to know that there are foods that help you lose weight.
After all food is not the enemy. Its is the wrong foods we are addicted to that are usually the problem. Many of us find
it very difficult to give up the foods we love to eat. Like giving up any habit, it is initially hard, but once we break the old habit and form a new one (allow 28 days) it gets a whole lot easier.
You’ve probably been on many diets and found that they don’t work. The key reasons for this usually involve motivation and sustainability. For this reason I recommend that you use a proven weight loss program that has plenty of structure, and good support with membership, groups, or discussion forums.
There are links on this page to two different programs that meet these criteria. Check them out and you will see what I mean. The first link is right below and the second one is after the list of foods that help you lose weight below.
Eat Wisely to Lose Weight
1. Salads made with lettuce, tomato, carrot, capsicum and cucumber is a low calorie meal, which will keep you satisfied and healthy at the same time. Instead of a regular salad dressing, use lemon juice. Or if you don’t a salad on its own, you could make a sandwich using wholegrain bread without butter and using all the salad vegetables. It’s also a great way to fill you up.
2. Grapes. Instead of choosing a snack of biscuits or potato chips, why not grab a handful of grapes instead? Don’t overdo it by eating too many because they are high in sugar, but are a much better snack because they have no fat. They are great served chilled on a hot summer’s day. These are foods that help you lose weight.
3. Oranges. This fruit is low in calories, having about 48 calories and is a great snack because it takes longer to eat when you factor in that you have to actually peel it.
4. Potatoes. Some people may feel that there are too many carbohydrates in a potato and is definitely not a food
to help you lose weight. The problem with potatoes is not the potato itself but the way it is cooked.
5. Cereals. High fiber cereals provide the bulk in your diet and fill you up on far less calories. For extra fiber, you could add some chopped fruit.
6. Sprouts. Any of these sprouts, such as mung beans, are excellent for slimming and they taste great raw.
7. Curds. These are a good source of protein and only contain 56 calories if they are made from skimmed cow’s milk. They are also an excellent source of calcium and vitamins and make a delicious dessert by adding fruit.
8. Popcorn. Popcorn made without the addition of butter and salt is a low-fat snack and 4 cups of popcorn contains only 100 calories and 1g of fat, so it is an excellent choice.
9. Berries. Berries are full of antioxidants and are an important part of a healthy diet and to keep your metabolism working properly. Whether they’re fresh or frozen it doesn’t matter.
10. Eggs. Eggs are one of the highest sources of protein and are known to be one of the best foods to help you lose weight.
